Setting up your first face

Four steps, start to finish. Most customers are done in under three minutes.

Install Clockology

Download Clockology to your iPhone, then open it once so the companion app appears on your Apple Watch.

Open and sync

Open your chosen face inside Clockology, then use the sync option to send it across to your Apple Watch. Keep both devices nearby while it transfers.

Keep your face on screen

Full-screen custom faces run inside the Clockology app, so your Apple Watch will return to its normal face after a short while unless you change one setting.

On your watch, go to Settings → General → Return to Clock and choose After 1 Hour.

Recommended setting: After 1 Hour. Notifications, navigation, audio apps, covering the display or taking the watch off can still send Clockology to the background.

Troubleshooting

My face disappeared and my normal watch face came back

This is the Return to Clock setting. On your Apple Watch, open Settings → General → Return to Clock and select After 1 Hour. Notifications, navigation, audio apps, covering the display or removing the watch can also send Clockology to the background.

My face won't sync

Check the face is compatible with your watch size first. If it is, restart both your iPhone and Apple Watch and try again — Clockology recommends a reboot, or reinstalling the app, when syncing fails.

Do I need to pay for Clockology+?

No. Clockology is free to download and the faces in your library work without a subscription. Some advanced functionality, such as certain weather features, may require Clockology+. That's the app developer's own upgrade, not something Nordvale charges for.

Does this permanently replace my Apple watch face?

Full-screen custom faces run through the Clockology app rather than becoming a native Apple watch face, which is why the Return to Clock setting matters. Some native and complication-based designs behave differently and stay on screen like a standard face.

Can I change the colours and layout?

Yes. Clockology includes a full editor, so you can adjust colours, layouts, imagery, time and date elements and device data on most faces to get something closer to what you want.

Can I request a specific watch face?

Absolutely. If you have a particular style in mind, send us a reference image or description and our team will help you find the closest compatible option available.
